Hi Everyone!
I wanted to give you an update to Dragon Hunters. I finished editing the story on Friday night/Saturday morning about 1 AM. The next step is to convert the MS Word file to the various electronic formats for Kindle, Nook, and some of the other readers. I hope to get that done during the course of the week. My current manuscript in MS Word is double spaced and covers 560 pages. I have to convert it to single space, remove my headers and footers, write the foreward statement, etc.
Then I have to set up the accounts on Amazon and wherever else the book will be offered for sale...
Argh!
This is a big step for me. No one has read Dragon Hunter but me. Some people reviewed the first part, but no one has read the whole thing. I am nervous as all get-out about what people will think. Will they like it? Will they hate it? Will they laugh at me?
Fighting the urge to hide in my writing and dive into Dragon Heart or go back and redo some part of Dragon Hunter.
Anyway, thanks for reading!

Linking Things Together
Tonight I made some changes to link this blog to my new website. Just to the right you'll see a list of "My Links". Only one there for right now, but it's an important one! It will take you to the DragonHawk Saga website.
Conversely there are buttons and links on the website that will bring you over here to Cats & Dragons.
I've been making some changes to the website. Changing such things as the layout, text boxes, and such. Just trying to find the right mix.
If you have any ideas about how I might change the website or the blog, please let me know. As always,
Thanks for reading!

The DragonHawk Saga moves steadily forward!
An update tonight for everyone who has been following and encouraging me.
Tonight, I took the website live. The address is:
http://dtransou.wix.com/davetransou
I'm not totally thrilled with it, but its a start for now. I will continue to tinker with it as time permits. If you go by there, use the Contact Page to let me know what you think!
Dragon Hunters is coming along nicely. I still hope to have it ready to upload to Amazon and the Kindle before the end of the June. Other versions will be available soon after that.
As always,
Thanks for reading!

The View from my Desk!
Work on the Saga was delayed yesterday evening for some surprise modifications. My family surprised me with a new pair of matching 27 inch monitors! I believe they will help me work more efficiently because I can have more files open at the same time.
For example, when I am working on the story, I can have my list of 397 characters, 115 named starships, 96 named companies and organizations, 53 named cities, and 19 star systems open. Along with one or more of the 4 reference manuals.
LOL! I know, lock me up and throw away the key! Now, if I could just convince my client and my bosses, I may never have to leave the house again!
Thanks for reading!

Progress Report
A pause from the frenetic march of time to give you an update.
Website:
I hope to have a "starter" website up and running before the weekend ends. There will be some temporary graphic placeholders, but it will be up and running.
Dragon Hunters:
Still editing past some rough spots. My goal is to get it up on Amazon for sale before the end of the month. Today's the 14th, so that leaves 16 days to finish up the editing.
Graphics:
Looking pretty good. I wish I could share them with you, but I don't want to do that until they are finished.
In the meantime,
Thanks for reading!

A Dragon Hunter Update
Last week I finished Part 1 of Dragon Hunter, Gaanard Bay. A few days later, I finished the Battle of Conborine, Part 2. I started work on reformatting and editing Part 1 for the Kindle, and sent copies out to three friends who are acting a Beta readers critiquing, commenting and criticizing.
Since then, I decided I didn't like Part 1 as a standalone part. It seemed too small. And the change of formatting did something, I'm not sure what, to the text. Either the converter chopped up some sentences and words, or I had a bunch of errors I missed. So I'm going back through the full length version looking for errors. Of which I have found a bunch.
I could have sworn I wrote that whole sentence...
So the path forward from here is to finish this edit, fix the mistakes and then look to converting Dragon Hunters to e-book format. In addition to the Kindle, I intend to go after a Nook version as well.
On the website front, I haven't made much progress either. I've been looking at some of the basic packages, but I'm hung up on the templates and their default layouts. I really haven't found a generic one that I like. (I guess that's why they call them generic, huh?). They have layouts for every kind of small business or entrepreneurial service you can think of, except for half-mad writers with visions of grandeur. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet, pick one and do the best I can with it. At least until I become a rich, famous writer who can afford to hire a web designer and a graphics firm...
Speaking of graphics, I may have part of that problem in the process of being solved. An artist friend of mine is playing around with some of my ideas. I can't wait to see what she comes up with!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch. Or this case, the Trade Station, I need to get back to work on Dragon Hunters. I've edited 3 of what is now 35 chapters, a prologue, and an epilogue. 554 pages in double spaced manuscript format, and 147,548 words. I'd like to get a couple of more chapters finished today.
As always, thanks for reading!

Dragon Hunter is finished!
Dragon Hunters, Book One of the DragonHawk Saga is complete. Not Part 1 nor Part 2. The entire story.
I didn't like the way the parts looked, so I decided keep the story intact. Right now it's sitting on the other screen where I have started converting and editing. I hope to have it up on Amazon soon.
Hang in there DragonHawk Fans! It will be to you soon!

An update on Dragon Hunters
So, here's the thing... I converted the first part of Dragon Hunter, Gaanard Bay, into a format for an e-book (Kindle right now, others later). And I didn't like what I saw. I didn't like the paragraph spacing. I didn't like the length. It doesn't read right single spaced for the converter.
So I'm going to finish Dragon Hunters, the whole, intact story, (tonight I hope!) And then convert it to e-book format and see how it reads.
Thanks for reading!
