Marching Towards Publication

This morning, about 02:30 AM, I finished my last full edit of Dragon Hunters. Since waking up about 11:30 or so, I have been working on the final assembly of the book. Title Page, Copyright Page, Dedication, and then the Main Story. Right now, I am paging through, searching for any obvious errors after completing the conversion to filtered html for the Kindle processor.

Listening to the Star Wars Saga while I work on the DragonHawk Saga.  Hmm, wonder if I will every have my own soundtrack...

Meanwhile, I plan to upload Dragon Hunters on Thursday, August 1st. So, keep your fingers crossed, Dragon Hunters is getting closer!

As always,

Thanks for reading!

Dragon Hunter Update

Slow and steady wins the race?  Last two weeks have been nerve-wracking for me. I knew I was behind and I've been pushing myself but not making very much progress. Things have calmed down a bit and I feel like I'm in control. With the help of family and friends, I've (we've) come up with a design for a business card to use to advertise Dragon Hunters and the Saga. Should have those from Vistaprint soon. Fairly inexpensive and I think they'll look cool.

So what do you think? I'll have these in about a week.

Meanwhile, I'm 85% finished with the editing for the Kindle version. After I finish editing the  manuscript format, I have to put it through the Kindle converter on the Amazon website. It takes about 48 hours before it will appear on my bookshelf.

Hopefully I'll get all of this done by the weekend!

Today at work, it occurred to me that if I write 1 book a year, I'll be 70 years old when I'm done!

Oh, well. As always,

Thanks for reading!

Friday, July Twelve, Two thousand thirteen: Time Marches On!

Well, it's Friday, the start of the second weekend of July. If you have been following the progress of Dragon Hunters, you are probably expecting me to be announcing that the story is finished and posted.

Unfortunately, that is not the case. Last weekend I had the opportunity to work uninterrupted for the entire weekend. I averaged about 18 hours per day from Friday through early Monday morning. I didn't finish my editing like I wanted. But I did achieve a massive case of burnout.

Monday meant making a quick jump via Transit Space from the Star Trader Galaxy to Reality, returning to the work that pays the bills. A tough, challenging week  that left me with little time to write.

Which brings me to today. Err, tonight. Almost tomorrow. I'm about two-thirds of the way through the manuscript, with about one hundred and twenty pages to go. I hope to be down closer to one hundred before I quit tonight or early in the morning.

So, just like the Tycho Drakkon and the Hawkkur Legion, I march on towards that magical day when the Great Dragon returns to the Star Folk. In the meantime, I promise to bring you the first installment of this great adventure that I am on. Just as soon as Big Boy and I can. As always,

Thanks for reading!

Dragon Hunters Update!

Some good news to share tonight about Dragon Hunters. I'm in the final steps of electronically publishing Dragon Hunters and will have it available for sale on Amazon in the Kindle format. I also plan to publish it for the Nook and other formats as well.

You can see the beautiful cover on the right side of the blog. The cover art was produced by a very talented young lady, Erica Nielsen-DiStafano. Doesn't it look great?

As always, thanks for reading!

Dragon Hunter Update

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to give you an update to Dragon Hunters. I finished editing the story on Friday night/Saturday morning about 1 AM. The next step is to convert the MS Word file to the various electronic formats for Kindle, Nook, and some of the other readers. I hope to get that done during the course of the week. My current manuscript in MS Word is double spaced and covers 560 pages. I have to convert it to single space, remove my headers and footers, write the foreward statement, etc.

Then I have to set up the accounts on Amazon and wherever else the book will be offered for sale...

Argh!

This is a big step for me. No one has read Dragon Hunter but me. Some people reviewed the first part, but no one has read the whole thing. I am nervous as all get-out about what people will think. Will they like it? Will they hate it? Will they laugh at me?

Fighting the urge to hide in my writing and dive into Dragon Heart or go back and redo some part of Dragon Hunter.

Anyway, thanks for reading!

Linking Things Together

Tonight I made some changes to link this blog to my new website. Just to the right you'll see a list of "My Links". Only one there for right now, but it's an important one! It will take you to the DragonHawk Saga website.

Conversely there are buttons and links on the website that will bring you over here to Cats & Dragons.

I've been making some changes to the website. Changing such things as the layout, text boxes, and such. Just trying to find the right mix.

If you have any ideas about how I might change the website or the blog, please let me know. As always,

Thanks for reading!

It's all in my head!
