Cats & Dragons

It's a little after four in the morning and I am sitting here writing about Cats & Dragons.
It's raining steady right now, after an early AM bout of light rain and sprinkles.
Showers blowing in off the Gulf of Mexico. I bet my buddies working offshore are getting some of this.
I'm up because the cats were outside. They've been spending most nights outside these days when the weather's good, although recently we've had quite a bit of rain in the area.
I woke up to the sound of thunder... how far off I sat and wondered... to quote Bob Segar.
I felt a little light headed, so I poured a small glass of orange juice.
That's not part of the song, that's just what I did.
I opened the front door and called the cats.
Baby Girl came running.
Took Big Boy about fifteen minutes to make his way to the door.
He's moving slower these days. We're not sure how old he is, but we reckon he's about fifteen or sixteen years old.
He's lost a lot of weight, down from his fighting trim of twenty pounds to about twelve.
Baby's down from a high of nine pounds to about seven. We think she's about nine or ten years old.
Neither one of them has very many teeth any more.
At any rate, they're both in, my blood sugar is back up, so I'm going to try and catch a couple of hours of sleep.
I'd rather stay here writing about Cats & Dragons, but I gotta get up in a couple of hours and write about ammonia.
It's pretty interesting, actually.
But I'd rather be writing about Cats & Dragons.

As always, thanks for reading!

Dave
